“When in doubt, wear red” (Bill Blass) but the question is how do you wear red to an event without looking too over the top?
Red symbolises love, life, passion and courage. Now, of course, you might love it, or you might not. But, if you do want to wear red and you’re unsure how to wear it, I rounded up my 5 outfit ideas to help get you inspired!
Red All Over
Red is a powerful colour, so wearing a red dress with matching red accessories can be a little too much. There are so many shades of red, so one of the challenges in wearing an all-red outfit would be in making sure that either all the items are the same shade or mixing two different shades of red.

Red top & a skirt
For a feminine and elegant look, an off the shoulder top with a knee-length skirt, like this sequined pencil skirt.

Top & red pants/skirt
If you don’t find red flattering for your skin tone, and prefer not to wear it around your face, a red skirt or pants is a good alternative. For a feminine and sophisticated look for day event such as a Christening or Holy Communion, a Palazzo or high waisted pants or a pleated skirt is always a good idea.

Red accessories
If a red outfit is not an option or a risk that you’re unwilling to take, then you might want to consider accessorising your outfit by adding a hint of red with accessories. The key to accessorising with red is to choose one or two items and avoid going matchy-matchy. What’s better with a little black dress than a pair of red pumps?
