You’re hosting a low-key event for close family and friends and thought it would be a good idea to create a simple centerpiece for this special occasion. There’ s one problem. You’re not a professional floral designer, you’ve never done a floral centerpiece before, but you’re opened to giving it a go.
When you don’t have experience in arranging flowers but would like to learn, the best approach is to keep it simple enough to get the job done but not too simple that it looks boring. The most important thing here is in choosing elegant pieces for your arrangement.
In this blog post, I will show you how you can create a simple yet elegant centerpiece that doesn’t take too much time and is budget friendly.

Materials
Roses are a classic. You can’t go wrong with having roses on your table whether you choose to have a rose only arrangement or add other flowers to the mix.
Here is what you will need to create this centerpiece:
- A pot or vase. For this centerpiece, I chose a black matte ceramic cylinder pot (12×12.5cm)
- Red roses (1 bunch)
- Pink roses (1 bunch)
- Cutter or a florist bud knife

Step by Step Guide
- Cut the flowers at an angel
- Remove all leaves
- Group roses in small bunches or bouquets (group of 3 for instance) and secure with an elastic rubber band
- Put water in the pot or vase. Fill only 1/3 of the container
- Place the bouquets in the pot.
That’s it! So easy and simple, isn’t it? Let me know what you think in the comments section below.
In Conclusion
There is nothing stopping you from creating a centerpiece if you wanted to. You don’t need experience. It doesn’t have to be a complicated arrangement. It doesn’t need to take too much of your time. And it doesn’t have to cost you too much money. All you need to create a simple centerpiece is to choose your items intentionally.
- Choose beautiful flowers. Roses are a classic and are always a good idea no matter the occasion
- Choose a pretty container that can add interest to the arrangement.
