How To Be Confident in Heels

When it comes to shoes, it’s not how fancy your shoes are that matters, there are factors can negatively impact how to be confident in heels.

“When a woman puts on a heel, she has a different posture, a different attitude. She really stands up and has a conscious of her body.”

It’s very rare to find a woman who doesn’t love shoes. Whether you have an obsession, or you don’t, the key to wearing a fancy pair of heels is for you to look and feel confident. How to be confident in heels is therefore the question. And in order to confidently flash your favorite heels, here are three things that I believe will negatively impact how you look and as a result how you feel about yourself.

Shoes Fit Perfectly

Picture this: A well-dressed woman walking down the street with her slingback shoes coming off with every step she makes! Not so flattering, isn’t it? Shoe accessories such as gel cushions, heel guards and leather insoles have been designed for a reason. The last time I bought a pair of shoes, the shoes kept slipping. Wearing tights exacerbated the problem. I bought 2 different types of insoles and gel cushions, tried them all, it was only until I used a combination of gel cushion and heel guard that the shoes finally fit!

Pamper Yourself & Get a Pedicure

If you’re planning on wearing peep toe shoes or sandals, it’s a must to treat yourself to a pedicure. I find it incredibly unflattering for a woman to wear open toe shoes if her toes are not nicely prepped. Otherwise, opt for pumps if you don’t feel like going through the hassle.

Heels are Comfortable

Comfort equals confidence. If you are not comfortable with what you wear you can’t look and feel confident, for me, it’s that simple. I know, it’s hard these days to find shoes that are comfortable. If your feet cannot withstand the strain of the high heels, don’t pressure yourself and opt for mid heels. If you are planning on wearing high heels to an event, keep a pair of foldable flat shoes or flat sandals with you, just in case! These days it’s easy to find pretty flats and sandals that you can wear to an event and they are a far better option than thongs or wearing bare foot when you’re all nicely dressed up!

Cracked feet are very unflattering, embarrassing and a definite “no-no” if you intend to wear sling back shoes.
Make sure to exfoliate and moisturise your feet regularly especially in summer.

Conclusion

Knowing what shoes to wear and how you choose to wear them can elevate your look. You will not feel confident when you’re wearing shoes that slip off, the heels are high and uncomfortable, or you don’t like your feet and when you wear open toe shoes you leave your toes unpolished.
